Russ Pryor has worked in the mental health field since 1993. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1994, a Master of Social Work from Tulane University in 1995, and a Master of Business Administration from Westminster College in 2000.
Russ has worked as a clinician and a manager at all the different levels of care and treatment. Some of Russ’ previous work experience included working as a therapist at Benchmark Regional Hospital, as an outpatient therapist, a therapist and director of admissions at an assessment center, as the clinical supervisor/crisis counselor for Intermountain Health Care, and as the clinical director for Highland Ridge Hospital. His therapeutic focus is an integrative approach to treatment using family systems theory and cognitive behavioral therapy. Russ’ specialties are treating mood disorders, social learning issues, personality disorders, grief and trauma, chemical dependency, and adoption/attachment issues. Moreover, Russ has advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Russ’ interests include running, traveling, movies, and the arts; however, his favorite hobby is running. Russ has run more than nine marathons and a plethora of half marathons. Russ married his best friend and has been married for more than 22 years. He has three beautiful and loving daughters. When Russ is not working, he loves to spend his time with his family.
