With more than 15 years in the industry, Kathryn has extensive experience working with struggling adolescents and pre-adolescents in residential and wilderness settings. A founding partner, she currently serves as the director of admissions at Asheville Academy for Girls.
Kathryn’s prior experience includes helping to develop, and providing admissions support, for the first wilderness program in the country designed specifically for 10 to 13-year-olds. She also founded and served as admissions director for a personal development boarding school for girls ages 10 to 14.
With her long history of working with this specific population, in addition to having two adolescent daughters of her own, Kathryn recognizes the necessity and value in providing families and their loved ones with a safe, nurturing and fun environment that recognizes and addresses the unique developmental needs of this age group. In her off time, she enjoys Pure Barre (LTB!), hiking, reading and works hard to keep up with her daughter, Frances’ and Ellie’s, busy high school schedules.
The opportunity to serve our girls and their families, and to help guide these special young ladies towards recognizing, and achieving, all of which they are capable while they still in their formative years is a gift and a joy. I am grateful every day to be part of a caring organization dedicated to helping young girls and their families improve relationship, and achieve, happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
