Summer camp is a controlled program for adolescents and children that take place during summer. Traditional summer camps are located in woodsy settings and activities taking place may include: campfires, canoeing, hiking, and rafting. These are being modified to accommodate modern summer camps, which typically offer a wide range of dedicated events. For example, some camps are specifically meant for healthy living/weight loss, performing arts, young adults/children with special needs/adolescents, mathematics, cultural development linguistics, magic, computers, and music. Some camps are run by religious groups with a specific focus, including Judaism and Christian groups.
