Drug abuse is the detrimental use of habit forming substances or drugs, typically in large quantities, that usually leads to craving, psychological injury (such as memory loss, dysfunctional behavior patterns, hallucinations), and/or psychological injury (including damage to liver, kidney, heart) or in the worst scenario death. It is also referred to as substance abuse.

Drug abuse and addiction are potentially fatal conditions for an individual who is trying to overcome such use. The side effects of drug abuse are generally devastating and can even be grave. In addition to destroying a person’s health, drug abuse often lands people in serious legal problems, but despite this drug use is common among teens around world. Individuals struggling with alcohol and drug addiction can seek help in residential treatment centers, rehabilitation centers, transitional living and other places.
